Bad Meets Evil nu este un proiect nou. Eminem si Royce Da 5’9’’ s-au unit sub acest nume inca din anul 1998. Cei 2 s-au cunoscut in anul 1997, la concertul lui Usher. Prima lor piesa impreuna a fost "Bad Meets Evil", inclusa pe albumul “The Slim Shady LP”, in anul 1999, an in care cei 2 au lansat "Nuttin' to Do" / "Scary Movies". In 2000 cei doi colaboreaza din nou pe piesa "She's the One", produsa de Neptunes, in 2001 pe piesa "Renegade", produsa de Eminem si "What the Beat", produsa de Dj Clue si Duro, piesa in colaborare cu Method Man si inclusa pe albumul lui Dj Clue, The Professional 2. In 2002, Eminem apare pe albumul lui Royce Da 5’9’’, pe piesa ce poarta numele albumului, produsa de Red Spyda. Piesa beneficiaza si de un videoclip, aceasta fiind ultima lor colaborare, iar din cauza certurilor cei 2 nu mai colaboreaza pana in 2010, cand Royce apare alaturi de trupa sa, Slaughterhouse, pe piesa "Session One", produsa de Just Blaze si inclusa pe albumul Recovery (vezi detalii pe http://www.hiphopdinromania.org/2010/06/de-afara-eminem-recovery-cd-original.html). Tot in 2010, Eminem, Yelawolf si Royce (alaturi de Slaughetrhouse) apar impreuna pe piesa "2.0 Boys", produsa de WillPower, KP, Eminem. 2011 e un an important pentru ambii, cei doi lanseaza Ep-ul “Hell:The Sequel”, iar Royce da 5’9’’ albumul Success Is Certain, unde apare si Eminem ca invitat pe piesa "Writer's Block" produsa de StreetRunner si Sarom Soundz.
Revenind la Ep-ul Hell: The Sequel, acesta a fost lansat in data de 13 iunie 2011, prin Shady Records si Interscope Records, iar de productia pieselor s-au ocupat Eminem (also exec.), Mr. Porter (also exec.), Havoc, Magnedo7, Supa Dups, Jason "JG" Gilbert, Sid Roams, Bangladesh, Sonti "branNu" Brown, The Smeezingtons, Battle Roy, Tony "56" Jackson si DJ Khalil.
Ep-ul a fost promovat de single-urile “Fast lane” si “Lighters”, lansate in data de 3 mai 2011 si respectiv 5 iulie 2011.
