DE AFARĂ: Eminem - The Slim Shady LP (1999)

A lansat primul album solo “Infinite” în anul 1996, prin Web Entertainment, iar un an mai târziu a lansat tot prin Web Entertainment “The Slim Shady EP”. Întâmplător, “The Slim Shady EP” ajunge în mâinile lui Dr. Dre, cei doi se întâlnesc și lucrează la primul album al lui Eminem la o casă de importanță majoră. The Slim Shady LP a fost lansat în data de 23 februarie 1999, prin Aftermath / Intercope / Web și debutează pe locul 2 în topul Billboard cu 283,000 de copii vândute în săptămână de lansare, fiind surclasat de TLC cu albumul FanMail. Albumul este promovat de single-urile “My name is”, “Role model” și “Guilty conscience” (în colaborare cu Dr. Dre).
În data de 5 aprilie 1999 este certificat cu platină reușind să vândă peste 1 milion de exemplare, iar în data de 15 noiembrie 2000, de 4X platină. De asemenea, este certificat de 2X cu platină și în Canada unde s-au vândut peste 200 000 de exemplare. De asemenea, 2X platină în UK și platina în Australia. Aurul în Olanda și Noua Zeelandă.
