The Eminem Show este cel de-al 4-lea album solo al lui Eminem și a fost lansat în data de 26 mai 2002 prin Aftermath, Interscope, Shady, Goliath. Inițial trebuia să fie lansat în data de 4 iunie2002, dar cu 25 de zile înainte de lansare, albumul era deja piratat, în data de 17 mai, la radio, la Opie and Anthony albumul venea difuzat integral. On May 24, 2022, Eminem announced the release of the expanded edition of the album on his social media to celebrate its 20th anniversary. On May 26, 2022, Eminem released the new expanded edition, which contains instrumentals of selected tracks, freestyles and live versions of songs from previous albums performed with his longtime friend and collaborator Proof at Tramps, New York and Fuji Rock Festival, Japan. It also features four new tracks which were recorded during the initial recording sessions but not included in the original version of the album; "Stimulate", which was kept off the album due to time constraints and instead appeared on the bonus disc of the 8 Mile soundtrack album, "Bump Heads" and "The Conspiracy Freestyle" (which had appeared on other Shady Records releases), and an unreleased song, "Jimmy, Brian, and Mike", which had a verse and chorus re-recorded by Eminem especially for the expanded edition. Physical versions of the expanded edition will be available later this year, including a 4xLP vinyl set, CD, and cassette.

"Sing for the Moment" is a song by American rapper Eminem. It was released as the fourth single from his fourth studio album The Eminem Show, on February 25, 2003. The song uses the chorus and melody of "Dream On" by American rock band Aerosmith.
The song uses an interpolation from the song "Dream On" by rock group Aerosmith. Joe Perry of Aerosmith plays the guitar solo at the end of the song, and a sample of Steven Tyler singing the chorus of "Dream On" is used as the chorus for this song. Eminem says "sing" when Tyler starts to sing the chorus, and Eminem also says "sing with me" and "come on" in the chorus. Eminem says the words in his live performances as well. The song also contains an interpolation of "Dream On" at the beginning of the song. "Sing for the Moment" was later released on Eminem's greatest hits album Curtain Call: The Hits. "Sing for the Moment" deals with the themes of rap music's effect on society and the misunderstanding Eminem claims critics and parents have towards his message. Eminem uses the song to refute critics who have accused him of promoting violence to young people, saying that committing a crime is ultimately up to the offender in a post-9/11 world. He also explains that his music has an advantage for young people, claiming that his music is a relief from boredom and depression. It became the second top-ten single from the album, reaching #4 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart, and one of the highest-charting singles of his career. The song did not reach #1 on any foreign charts, but was certified Platinum in Australia.
It was also used in the initial theatrical trailer to Eminem's film, 8 Mile released in November of that year.
With the release of The Marshall Mathers LP 2 in 2013, Eminem apologised to his mother on the track "Headlights". He stated (among other things such as wrongfully mocking her drug problem, regretting that he never let his daughters meet their grandmother) that he cringes when he hears "Cleanin' Out My Closet" on the radio, and that he does not play the song in-concert any more.

The opening lyric "Two trailer park girls go round the outside" is based on the single "Buffalo Gals" by Malcolm McLaren and mocks underground artist Canibus, while the introduction — "Obie Trice, real name, no gimmicks" — is sampled from Obie Trice's own track "Rap Name". It also heavily samples Michael Jackson's hit song, "Billie Jean".
The background saxophone riff was sampled in Drunkenmunky's 2002 club hit About this sound "E" (help·info).
Some of the lyrics are altered on the clean version, such as "This is about to get heavy" replaced "This shit's about to get heavy". Also, "Fuck that, cum on your lips, and some on your tits" is changed to "Jump back, jiggle your hips and wiggle a bit". The censored version also replaces "fag" with "Stan" when referring to Moby, a reference to the popular track from The Marshall Mathers LP (2000).
