We Are the Doorways este cel de-al 6-lea album al lui RJD2 (lansat cu numele de The Insane Warrior) și a fost lansat în data de 1 februarie 2011, prin
RJ's Electrical Connections.
Not
all records are created with the same goal in mind. Following in the
footsteps of MF Doom, Prefuse 73, and Damon Albarn, RJD2 has created a
side project/alter ego of sorts: The Insane Warioor. A strictly
instrumental affair, the album "We are the Doorways" was loosely
inspired by horror and sci-fi film scores of the 70s and early 80s.
While heavily leaning on big, espansive analog synth sounds, angular
rhythms, and blissful ambient passages, the record still maintains the
attention to groove that RJD2 is well known for. At times jazzy,
psychedelic, and introspecive, The Insane Warrior is yet another unique
trademark in the catalog of an ever changing and growing artist.
