Balt Getty and Chino XL is an American hip-hop duo. The Duo includes
actor and producer Balthazar Getty and lyricist Chino XL. The two teamed
up for a collaborative EP called “Chino vs. Balt.” Chino XL is known
for his thought-provoking lyrics.
With the current COVID-19
pandemic going on during its creation, both artists had lots of
late-night phone calls because of their insomnia. Balt would lay down
the beats and melodies while Chino XL sent over lyrics and the two were
fused together. The duo believes that making music both simple yet
compelling is a true sign of mastery.
The two exhibit levels of
artistry and proficiency that heads to golden age of lyricism, unblended
hip-hop sensibilities, hip-hop’s ambient roots and the fostering of the
present-day sound.
The EP, “Chino vs. Balt,” is a balanced
5-track offering and intended to be part of a series of EP’s of a
similar format of “Balt vs. [insert famous musician’s] name” which are
