Daz Dillinger has announced the full tracklist for Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back 2, set for release on June 15, 2025. Nearly three decades after his 1998 solo debut Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back, the follow-up arrives as both a continuation and a reflection of his pivotal role in West Coast hip-hop’s evolution during one of its most volatile periods.
The original Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back emerged in the aftermath of Death Row Records’ collapse. In the wake of 2Pac’s death and Dr. Dre’s departure, and with Suge Knight imprisoned following the events tied to the fatal Las Vegas altercation, Daz unexpectedly became one of the label’s last active architects. Released via Death Row and Priority Records on March 31, 1998, the album debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 and served as both a swan song for the original Death Row era and a launchpad for Daz’s solo independence.
Shortly after its release, Daz left the embattled label and founded D.P.G. Recordz, cementing his reputation as a self-sustained artist and producer. His departure signaled the official closing chapter of Death Row’s golden run, as the label wouldn’t release another original studio album until a full seven years later.
Now in 2025, Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back 2 reconnects with that legacy while bridging it into a new era.
