(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  Yo whats good!

(ELADIO) Back in the days (april 09) when we did the last interview, you used to say: “2009 is the year of the goons so we about to do some moves!”. So it was. Snowgoons made some hot shit, right? 

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  Hell yeah! We released 5 albums. The Instrumental Album, A Fist In The Thought with the Savage Brothers and Lord Lhus, German Snow (The german album), The Trojan Horse and Black Luger which was free download album!

 

(ELADIO) A Fist In The Thought was released more than 5 months ago. It was a dope album. How was the feedback?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  The feedback was good but i think this album is really underrated. Lhus and the Savage Brothers brought some sick themes and lyrics to the project. We never did an album with just "two" artists so it was different workflow. We could really get into the songs and made a real album. 

 

(ELADIO) German Snow was released too the last year. Some people was hattin’ on that because they used to say that the german mc’s fucked up the original tracks. What’s your oppinion about that?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  Thats definitely not true! We worked just with people that we like and i think everybody was motivated and spit some real shit. We are totally not into the "mainstream german fake gangster" shit. So most artists we recorded with totally was diggin the lyrics and theme of the original songs and was rockin with it!

 

(ELADIO) 27^th (october) was the day! The trojan horse was released! Tell us more about this dope album!

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  I think the outcome of Trojan Horse is incredible! Specially if you think about that the whole album beside 2 songs got recorded in lesser then 3 months. Believe me, to work with american artists can be difficult sometimes! Specially if you want something for free. But almost everybody was willin to work quick and on time. I flu to L.A. to record the song with La Coka. Ill Bill was in L.A. too cause he recorded  the album with DJ Muggs so it was perfect. The only song we couldnt put on the album was the joint with Torae and Skyzoo. They send the files 2 days after the deadline.

 

(ELADIO) This time Snowgoons made it. Sicknature didn’t. What happened?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  Sicknature took back his album to help out with our stuff. He did beats on A Fist In The Thought and also The Trojan Horse. Right now we even work more together if not to say he is almost a Snowgoon! Just a few weeks ago DJ Waxwork deceide to leave the Snowgoons and he want to do his own thing. So it was just natural that we include Sicknature. The only reason why Sicknature is not 100% in the Snowgoons is that he is to much of a own caracter already and he got his own style.

(ELADIO) Still no Nas or Fat Joe collabo. You still dreamin’ on that?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  Yeah kinda but its not my main target. I just want to do good music with my friends and artists i like. So if its gonna heppening its gonna come natural.

 

(ELADIO) How was the show? How was the romanian audience present at the show?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  Really good! We made a good party but i believe the crowed was a little disapointed that we just played a few Snowgoons songs. The wanted to hear more and thats what we doing now. We included a lot of Snowgoons song in our new set!

 

(ELADIO) Ok, you got 3 dope album, you made shows all around the world, but you still don’t have an billboard album. Are the big labels hattin’?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  No i just think we even not out for the billboard charts. The music we doing is just not made for the charts. We need to change the sound to get there. But thats not what we want.

 

(ELADIO) I know that feedback is very very important to you. I still remember the show that Ill Bill made in Bologna the last year and you and Big Left was there with the fans after the show, but there is something in the world (like a platinum album, or a big deal with a big label) that can change the way you are true and near to the fans?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  Never! I like to talk to the people and meet everybody. I think its really important to stay connected. If a fan wants me to sign his cd or want to shake hands or anything im always down to do it. Cause i got respect for the fans that support our music. At the end of the day we are all the same: HIP HOP Fans!

(ELADIO) By the way, what happened to Big Left? He was a part of La Coka Nostra, ain’t that right?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  Big Left "left" La Coka cause of some family issues. So it was his own decision.

 

(ELADIO) If an romanian MC wanna get a collabo with the Snowgoons, what does he needs to know?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  He just need to have a lot of money! Hahaha no! He can reach us on the regular channels like myspace or facebook and if we think he is dope and we got time we willin to work with everbody. Its mostly a time problem. As you can see we doing a lot of music and its not easy to keep up with that. I got a daughter and Det got a family so we need some time for that as well.

(ELADIO) Do you have a message for the peoples that are reading this?

(Dj Illegal – Snowgoons)  Snowgoons are back to there roots. It was Det and me who started the Snowgoons and thats how we keep going on right now. In 2010 we will release a couple of projects! We already released a best of Sicknature and Snowgoons mixtape last month . So watch out for all the stuff thats comin and check us out on myspace, youtube and facebook! PEACE
